Executive Chef, Mitja Ziegler, brings a cosmopolitan flair to your dining experience at Bison Lodge. Originally trained in Germany, he has travelled the world, building an impressive resume that includes everything from executive catering gigs to the management of large restaurant teams. Since moving to British Columbia in 2010, he has served the discerning clients of many private fishing and heli-skiing lodges. As your Bison Lodge Chef, Mitja will craft customized menus that draw on his international perspective, regional traditions and locally sourced ingredients to creatively elevate your chalet cuisine experience.

In fact our friends at National Geographic featured it on their ‘Ultimate Adventure Bucket List‘ as a must-do. The choice is yours, the resort-accessed backcountry is exceptional. For the more adventurous, Rogers Pass at the heart of Glacier National Park, is a 40 minute drive away. Whether it’s easy cruisers, heart pumping cross country epics, or shuttled downhill thrills, there’s something in Revy for every biker. Start by exploring our well-developed networks of trails. In the summer, we like to beat the heat by whitewater rafting on the Illicillewaet River, or standup paddle boarding on Lake Revelstoke. Both offer a more intimate connection with the region’s spectacular natural beauty.
Revelstoke is surrounded by mountains, rivers and lakes, making it a summer recreation paradise. Enjoy world-class mountain biking, paragliding, fishing, rock climbing, and boating. Or get up the alpine from Mount Revelstoke and Glacier National Parks, which have networks of beautiful trails to explore.
While you’re here, slit away from the Lodge and take in the local nightlife at the Grizzly Plaza, where locals and visitors mingle. On summer Saturdays, the Farmer’s Market draws vendors from the surrounding area, offering up a bounty of organic produce and local crafts and textiles. A true small town experience.
A short stroll from Bison Lodge brings you to Revelstoke Mountain Resort’s village base where you can choose your adventure for the day: hiking, biking, coaster rides, and heli adventures are all part of the summer fun at RMR.
Take a gondola ride up to the Revelation Lodge for their delicious brunch and take in the views of the Columbia Basin and the surrounding mountain ranges. Work off brunch with a hike through the alpine wildflowers or go for a ride on the new mountain coaster.
